Seven area college coaches will be on hand to help evaluate and select the 2012 SMS Summer teams. The list includes some of the premier programs. SMS will welcome Chris Miller and Shayne Lynch from Washington College, Tim O'Branski from Salisbury University, Mark Fry from Ferrum College, John Reynolds from Marymount and of course SMS staff members Chris Hasbrouck and Ryan Alexander from St. Mary's College. Coach Miller, Senior Assistant coach at Washington College said "I have been impressed with the SMS players and program for the past few years and look forward to the opportunity to play a roll in their tryout process." Coach O'Brenski added, "Through its staff’s tremendous dedication and knowledge of the game, SMS perennially produces quality lacrosse players who have proven to be successful at the highest level of intercollegiate competition. We look forward to being a part of their evaluation process.” Tryouts will be held at Greenbelt Sportsplex on Saturday, January 28 from 5:30-9:30pm

From the North (Baltimore): Travel south on I-295 towards Greenbelt and the Washington Beltway. Exit at Greenbelt onto Route 193 east (Greenbelt Road). Travel 2.3 miles then turn left onto Good Luck Road. Bear right onto Goodluck Road at the traffic light and arrive at Greenbelt Sportsplex!
From the East (Annapolis): Travel west on Route 50 and Take exit 11 onto Route 197 (Collington Road) north. Turn left on Route 450 (Annapolis Road) and travel 2.3 miles to Route 193. At the stoplight, turn right onto 193 and travel 3 miles to Goodluck Road. Turn right onto Good Luck Road. Bear right onto Goodluck Road at the traffic light and arrive at Greenbelt Sportsplex!
From the South (Waldorf): Take US 301 North to Route 5 north towards the capital beltway. Exit onto the beltway towards Baltimore and College Park. Travel 13 miles and take exit 20A at Route 450 (Annapolis Road). Continue on 450 and turn left on Route 193 (Greenbelt Road). From Route 193, turn right onto Good Luck Road. Bear right onto Goodluck Road at the traffic light and arrive at Greenbelt Sportsplex!From the West (Washington DC): Take Route 650 (New Hampshire Ave) north. At Route 193 (University Boulevard), travel east towards College Park and Greenbelt. Travel 9 miles then turn left onto Good Luck Road. Bear right onto Goodluck Road at the traffic light and arrive at Greenbelt Sportsplex!
St. Mary’s College’s Chris Hasbrouck Joins SMS Lacrosse Staff.
SMS Lacrosse announces the addition of Chris Hasbrouck to their coaching staff. Coach Hasbrouck brings Sixteen years of college coaching experience, including eleven years as an assistant at Salisbury University. While at Salisbury, Hasbrouck and the Sea Gulls captured five Division III national championship titles. He then spent two years as the head coach at Limestone College where Hasbrouck was voted the 2005 Division II Coach of the Year after leading his team to the national championship game.
For the past three seasons, he has served as the head coach of the St. Mary's College of Maryland men’s lacrosse program. Hasbrouck has made the Seahawks one of the frontrunners of the Capital Athletic Conference, earning 2009 CAC Coach of the Year honors. Through his guidance, St. Mary's has become relevant in the world of Division III lacrosse. In Hasbrouck’s five years as a collegiate head coach, he has developed countless number of high-caliber players, including nine U.S. Lacrosse All-American’s.
Hasbrouck graduated summa cum laude with a B.S. in physical education from Salisbury University in 1995 and then earned a master's in education in 1997.
Coach Hasbrouck on SMS: “I’m extremely excited to begin working with SMS, Coach Montes, Coach Zecca, Coach Ganley and the rest of the SMS organization. I have been impressed with the caliber of play and the level of coaching the players receive. I feel that my coaching philosophy is very much in tune with that of the SMS organization. The coaching staff works diligently to offer their players a first-class experience and have a proven track record of success. Year in and year out, the SMS teams compete with the very best high school club teams in the country. This is without a doubt a win-win, and I’m looking forward to getting started.”
